How To Pronounce The American T
Did
you realize that Americans and Canadians are pronouncing the spelling
of T in over 10 different ways? British English only uses a few
different ways and you may be using it just 1 or 2 ways.
Do you recognize how to pronounce the T in the following words? (Hint- they are all different.)
butter

maintain

If
you are not sure of what to do with each of these T’s, or if you have
some idea of how North Americans are using them but don’t know why, I
recommend my audio lesson on “Pronouncing the American T.”
In
this one-hour class you will learn all of the RULES of T and you can
begin to use them immediately! Knowing how to use the T in American
English is a HUGE way to begin speaking with an American accent!
The
funny thing is- your American and Canadian friends and colleagues are
using these sounds all the time (just think how many times you use a T
in just one sentence.) And they don’t even realize they are doing it! So
that’s why they can’t tell you what you should do to sound like them
because it’s a “subconscious” thing.
But
once I teach you all of the variations of the T, you can begin to sound
exactly like them and you will “consciously” know what is going on.
This
is the very first time that I am offering Pronouncing the American T as
a stand-alone lesson. In the past you would have either needed to be a
member of the American Accent Workshop or have purchased the
American Accent Audio Course.
